Congratulations to Cadets Oliver Cole-Frank, Pau Ebbay, Cameron Foster, Chloe Green, Alex Hajzus, Evan Peasley, Christian Roberts, Matthew Scaggs, and Isabella Wells on graduating from Leadership Academy (LA) on June 13, 2026!

Held at Riverside Preparatory Academy in Gainesville, Leadership Academy brings together outstanding cadets from NJROTC units across the region for a week of intensive leadership development, military training, and team-building. Throughout the week, cadets are challenged to strengthen their leadership skills while preparing for future leadership roles within their home units.

Nease cadets took on several key leadership positions during the academy. Cadets Cole-Frank, Ebbay, Foster, Green, and Roberts were selected to serve as Platoon Commanders, while Cadet Peasley was appointed Guidon, carrying his platoon's colors with pride throughout the week.

A special congratulations goes to Cadet Roberts and his platoon for earning the distinction of Honor Platoon, recognizing their exceptional leadership, teamwork, and overall performance.

We also extend special recognition to Cadet Evan Gourd, who returned to Leadership Academy as cadre, serving as the Commander of Troops (COT) and mentoring the next generation of NJROTC leaders.

We are incredibly proud of each of these cadets for representing Nease NJROTC with professionalism, integrity, and outstanding leadership. Congratulations on this remarkable achievement, and thank you for continuing the tradition of excellence that defines our battalion. Way to represent Nease!

Congratulations to this outstanding group of Nease NJROTC cadets on successfully completing Basic Leadership Training (BLT) at Camp Blanding Joint Training Center!

Basic Leadership Training provides cadets with hands-on instruction in military leadership, teamwork, discipline, physical fitness, and confidence-building. Throughout the week, participants were challenged to develop the skills necessary to become effective leaders within their NJROTC units.

Our cadets demonstrated exceptional dedication, resilience, and commitment as they embraced every challenge presented during training. Their professionalism and teamwork reflected the high standards of Nease NJROTC and represented our unit with pride.

A special congratulations goes to Cadets Sinnott and Wagner for returning to BLT to serve as cadre, mentoring and leading this year's participants. We also recognize Cadet Wagner for serving as the Executive Officer (XO) for the week, a significant leadership role that helped ensure the success of the training program.

Congratulations to Cadets Fortuna, Froehlich, Gourd, Hajzus, Johns, Kurian, Pedreiro, and Willis, who participated in the 2026 Florida American Legion Boys State in Tallahassee June 21-27.

Throughout the week, these outstanding young men gained firsthand experience in government, leadership, public speaking, and the political process while working alongside more than 500 of Florida's top high school students. Through mock elections, legislative sessions, judicial proceedings, and civic leadership activities, they developed a deeper understanding of how local, state, and federal government operates.

A very special congratulations goes to Cadet Riley Willis, who earned one of the highest honors possible at Boys State by being selected as one of only two students out of approximately 550 attendees statewide to represent Florida as a 2026 Boys Nation Senator.

This prestigious honor will take Riley to Washington, D.C. this July, where he will join outstanding student leaders from across the nation for American Legion Boys Nation, an unforgettable leadership experience that provides an in-depth look at the federal government while fostering leadership, citizenship, and public service.

We are incredibly proud of all of our cadets for representing Nease NJROTC with professionalism, integrity, and excellence throughout the week. Their leadership, character, and commitment continue to reflect the values that make our program so exceptional.

Several of our outstanding Nease NJROTC cadets had the privilege of attending the 2026 American Legion Auxiliary Florida Girls State, a prestigious leadership and citizenship program designed to develop the next generation of civic leaders. Congratulations to Cadets Alexander, Ardon, Chism, Daniels, Kane, Lewis, Pitches, Wagner, and Walker on completing this prestigious program!

Throughout the week, delegates immersed themselves in the workings of state government by campaigning for office, participating in elections, drafting legislation, debating public policy, and serving in a variety of leadership roles. The hands-on program provided valuable insight into the responsibilities of government while encouraging teamwork, critical thinking, and public service.

Sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, Florida Girls State recognizes young women who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, academic achievement, and a commitment to serving their schools and communities. The experience challenges delegates to grow as leaders while building lasting friendships with peers from across the state.

We are incredibly proud of our Girls State delegates for embracing this opportunity with enthusiasm and representing Nease NJROTC with confidence, professionalism, and integrity. Their dedication to leadership and service reflects the core values of our battalion, and we congratulate each of them on an outstanding accomplishment.

The Nease NJROTC Boosters Club plays a vital role in supporting our cadets throughout the year by funding competition costs, grants, special events, classroom resources, and much more. The countdown to a new school year is on! Basic Cadet Training (BCT) will take place August 3–7 at Nease High School, where our newest NS1 cadets will begin their NJROTC journey.

Throughout the week, incoming cadets will be introduced to the fundamentals of NJROTC, including military customs and courtesies, drill, physical fitness, teamwork, leadership, and the core values that make Nease NJROTC one of the nation's premier programs. BCT serves as the foundation for a successful and rewarding year while helping new cadets build confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging within the battalion.

Many returning NS2, NS3, and NS4 cadets will serve as cadre, leading and mentoring our newest cadets throughout the week. Cadre members will receive additional information regarding a required workday prior to the start of training.

Parent Meeting

Parents of our incoming NS1 cadets are invited to stay after morning drop-off on Monday, August 3, for a brief welcome meeting with the NJROTC instructors and Booster Club. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the program, ask questions, and meet other new NJROTC families.

Current NS2, NS3, and NS4 parents are also encouraged to attend to help welcome our newest families and share their experiences.

BCT Graduation & Unit Kickoff Social

Please join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of our newest cadets during the Basic Cadet Training Graduation Ceremony on Friday, August 7.

Following graduation, all NJROTC families are invited to our Unit Kickoff Social from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at St. John Paul II Church (127 Stonemason Way). This annual gathering is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our BCT graduates, reconnect with returning cadets and families, welcome our newest members, and kick off another exciting year for Nease NJROTC. Please RSVP for us to get enough food for everyone!

We look forward to welcoming the newest members of our battalion and beginning another year of leadership, service, and excellence. Here's to an outstanding start to the 2026–2027 school year!

• New incoming cadets must complete the Participation Forms, Custody Card, and purchase a unit polo.
• Returning cadets must complete the Returning Cadet Participation Forms.
• ALL CADETS must have a current physical on file prior to the beginning of BCT.

The Nease NJROTC Boosters Club is teaming up with Grease Monkey Oil Changes & More for a new fundraiser designed to support cadets while helping community members save on car care services.

The “Full Speed Ahead Fundraising Program” will run from April 27 through October 27, 2026, at participating Grease Monkey locations in St. Augustine. Community members who participate can receive discounts on services while also contributing directly to the Nease NJROTC Boosters Club.

Customers who present the fundraiser flyer at checkout can choose from several options:

• Save $10 on an oil change while the NJROTC Boosters Club earns $10
• Pay full price for an oil change and the Boosters Club earns $20
• Receive 10% off additional preventive vehicle services while the organization earns 10%
