Season of Thankfulness

Thanksgiving month has started off with a bang! We successfully hosted our annual Nease Hosted Drill Meet on November 2nd. Nine schools participated, keeping our cadets busy throughout the day. This huge event has cadets, judges, and spectators totaling over 300 people! This meet can't happen without the help of our parent and friend volunteers and donations of money, food, and supplies. THANK YOU to everyone who donated their time and/or resources to help make this a successful day for our unit and the competing cadets.

We also had an awesome turn out for our cadet breakfast on October 29th. Thanks again goes to the wonderful parents who volunteered their time and treasures to give back to our cadets!

As the holiday season picks up, we have several more events that we will need help with! Please see our events coming up throughout the newsletter, mark your calendars, and continue to support our kids and instructors!

CPO Updates

Thank you for attending our October meeting! We are so grateful for your participation! Take a look at our OCTOBER MEETING MINUTES.

If you haven't yet, please visit our Booster Store to become a booster member, and purchase spirit wear, cadet items, and yard signs. All proceeds are to support the efforts of the Nease NJROTC program. Your contributions help to supplement the costs of drill meets, competitions, picnics, and other unit-wide events.

Fall Promotions

Our fall promotions ceremonies are coming up fast! Make plans to attend, and be ready to help pin your cadet with his or her new rank! Promotions will be held at Nease High School in the football stadium. School clearance is not required, so extended family members who may not normally have school clearance are welcome to join. Promotion time is your cadet's normal class time on the days listed above.

CPO Meeting

Our next monthly CPO meeting will be held Thursday, November 21st at 7:45am in portable 40 at Nease. You must register by noon the day before the meeting to attend and you must be cleared by SJCSD to be on campus. Register HERE to be included in the meeting.

Veterans Day Parade

The Veterans Day Parade is Monday, November 11th at 11am. Cadets participating will leave Nease by bus at 8:30am and will return at 1:00pm. Parents are invited to go watch and support our cadets!

Buy a Brick

Buy a brick to benefit the future of the unit and remember current and past cadets as well as supporters of our unit! Your 4x8 brick will be placed as a border to our new pathway from the NJROTC building to the practice drill deck. This is a great way to give back and make your mark in history! Buy yours HERE!

Our Nease Drill Team competed on October 26th at the Mandarin Drill Meet. Our team placed FIRST OVERALL in the meet! Here are our full results list:

Annual Military Inspection (AMI)

Our unit's AMI will be held on December 6th. Part of this inspection involves a thorough audit of the unit including a review of our records and evaluation of our supply room and facilities. To prepare, we need parents who are good at organization and cleanliness to offer some help in preparing on December 2nd and 3rd. Please consider signing up HERE to help!

In addition, all cadets in our unit will undergo PI and perform a demonstration on December 6th, which will be open for family and friends to observe. Once the schedule is finalized, we will release the time for this portion of our AMI.

Night of Lights

We need your help! Please consider helping us with one of our biggest fundraisers of the year! St. Augustine Night of Lights parking lot fundraiser will be December 13-15. Both cadet and parent volunteers are needed! Parent volunteers can sign up for a shift HERE! Cadets who want to help and receive volunteer hours can sign up through the unit. THANK you in advance for helping make this one a success!
