Nease NJROTC Honors Veterans at Annual Palatka Parade

Nease NJROTC cadets proudly represented our program at the Veterans Day Parade in Palatka on November 11. Despite the chilly weather, our cadets performed exceptionally well, showcasing their discipline, teamwork, and respect for the veterans and community members who lined the route.

Cadets departed Nease early that morning and arrived in Palatka in time for the 10:00 a.m. parade start. The route began at 11th Avenue and concluded at Riverfront Park, where families and supporters cheered them on. Participation in this event served as a graded summative requirement for NS1 cadets, who also earned five hours of community service for their involvement, as well as a parade ribbon at fall promotions.

Thank you to the parents who braved the cold to support our cadets. It was a great day of patriotism, professionalism, and pride for Nease NJROTC.

Platinum Wins for Nease Cyber Patriot

The results are in for our Cyber Patriot teams. Team A and Team B earned placement in the Platinum Tier, the highest and most competitive tier in the Cyber Patriot program. Team C earned a strong Gold Tier placement. All three teams competed in the NJROTC Category, measuring their performance against units nationwide.

Cyber Patriot determines tier placement by combining the scores from Round 1 and Round 2. Those cumulative scores determine whether a team places in Platinum, Gold, or Silver for the next round. After tier placement, the slate is wiped clean. All teams begin the next round with a fresh start within their assigned tier.

What the Tiers Mean

  • Platinum Tier – Top 30% of teams in each category based on combined Round 1 and 2 scores. This is the highest tier and the only one eligible for the National Finals.
Our two Platinum teams performed within this top 30% of all NJROTC teams.

  • Gold Tier – Middle 40% of teams based on cumulative scores.
Our Gold team scored within this middle 40%.

  • Silver Tier – Bottom 30% of teams; ineligible for Nationals.

With two teams earning Platinum and one earning Gold, Nease NJROTC continues to excel in cybersecurity competition. Congratulations to our cadets on their impressive accomplishments!
